First Wave Complete

Well I've been very busy lately. I've been trying to find a way to keep myself busy while Jon is at school and to do something productive rather than just sitting at the computer or playing a game. Well I finally found a few things. First of all, I'm going to continue studying history, after all that's what the blog was for in the first place. And secondly I'm going to being learning Spanish and Japanese. :D Now, that, is something productive if I ever thought of it in my life.

As far as my other blog goes, the first wave is complete. All of the main character bios for Higurashi are up, now I just have to do the secondary characters and move on from there to more anime and eventually a few video game reviews. I'm considering putting my Heavy Rain article on the other site, it might get more hits there any ways.

First Impressions of Heavy Rain

Well I haven't played the game yet, I'm sure I will one day though. I have however watched a lot of gameplay and played the demo a little. So here's what I have to think about the game based on just that.

First of all the movement of the characters irritates me. I don't like having to "hold down the gas" so to speak, in order to move my character. I also don't like the fact that there's a lot of Quick Time Events (QTE) in the game. After playing the demo I get the feeling that half of the game is going to be nothing but QTE's and honestly, if that's the case, then I feel bad for the people that made the game. I know a lot of people wouldn't mind a game consisting of mostly QTE's but, honestly when you play a game like that, where's the freedom?

A few thing that I really like about the game include the story, graphics and character development. The graphics are absolutely beautiful, anyone with a mind can see that. Honestly for me, they're a bit too realistic, but its not something I couldn't get used to. Times in gaming really are changing after all, aren't they? The story is amazing in this game. I tell you this, when you get to the end you will be a bit shocked. Like I said, I haven't played the game, but if you do enough research online you can find everything. The way the characters are developed is also very impressive. Every character has a nice backstory and they're all related in some way to the others due to the story. Not many games lately have given me the pleasure of seeing a nice, fully developed cast of characters, so Kudos Heavy Rain.

I'm sure that by now everyone has heard about the controversy surrounding the 'strip tease' scene. Well, I've seen this scene and some of the gameplay leading up to this scene. I see no reason why it should be a controversy. There are far more sexually explicit things in other games, and they get little to no attention. For example, every God of War game, including the upcoming third title, has a sex mini game included. When do you hear about that on the news? Then again they never show anything in those. So what, some animated breasts are shown, is that really that big of a deal?

Dragon Age Fever!!

Today after a long absence of the will to play games I once again picked up the controller and dove right into Dragon Age Origins. This game I have loved for so long. I've honestly become one of the biggest fangirls of it recently. I can imagine that's quite annoying for some people.

Well for those interested here's the basic outline of how I spent my day playing Dragon Age.
First of all I finally got through the darn dwarf city. That was a pain in the rear if I do say so myself. After that I made Alistair fall in love with my character. Fair warning; if I ever mention Dragon Age, I will, no doubt, mention Alistair at least once. Anyways I had a huge fangirl moment every time something cute and slightly romantic happened between my character and Alistair. And then to top it all off I joined an "Alistair Fan Club" on Facebook. Currently I'm sitting in the forest with the Dalish. Can not work up the energy to go look for the werewolf.

I also started watching K-ON! today. :3 Oh man. Watch it. Its sooo cute and funny. It just makes me smile and I can't explain why.

Oh, and for all of you excited for Heavy Rain, which I'm actually one person who isn't, the identity of the killer will make you go ":O!!! OMFG NO WAI!!!" Trust me. It made me do that!

Tomorrow looks like another nice day filled with forum lurking, Dragon Age and maybe another episode or two of K-ON! Until then I'm off to sleep and to feed my fishies :3

Finally! No. More. Sickness.

I just seriously had the worst cold ever! I was sick for two days. Two VERY long days! I couldn't even help my Aunt and Uncle move.

I did, however, become the new owner of their fishies. 8D I LOVEEE FISH~~!! Even though one of them looks like a cow with fins ^^;; Speaking of, I need to change the water kinda.. D:

All of that aside I finally almost caught up with my old Dragon Age save. ^0^

I've been promising a good friend of mine, Karen, that I would mail her a picture that I made for her, but I haven't been able to do so thus far. Well, as of tomorow before noon, I should have that sucker mailed! I can not wait until she actually gets it! She's gonna be so freakin happyyy!

I've been working a lot on content for my main site/old blog lately. I've decided so far that it would be a wise decision to get rid of the video game news section since I haven't really the time to constantly lurk around N4G and other site waiting for new stories to pop up. That's just not something I want to do. Maybe after I get more established I'll branch out and look for anime news. That seems more appropriate for the site I think.

1:25am. Nothing to do at all. =/

I just finished making the first Higurashi character profile and now I can't will myself to make another one. I really should though since I won't be on the internet for the next day or so. That means I'll fall behind on my blog. Ugh. Sometimes I wish I didn't take it so seriously, then I would have more time to find something productive to do online.

Yesterday and today I spent a lot of time filling out and turning in job apps. I really could use a job I guess. I really don't think that I'll get one, but I mean if it makes people happy by seeing me turn the darn things in, then I guess I'll do it.

I discovered a band over the past few days thanks to Last.Fm that I've just absolutely fallen in love with. That band is Forever Slave. They're a Spanish symphonic metal band, but honestly her voice is like heaven. I love it!

OMG!

Today was Valentine's Day. Well to be specific, yesterday was, but I haven't slept yet. I had a wonderful day with my boyfriend. We pretty much just stayed home and watched tv and played some video games but it was nice.

I happened to finish Code Geass R2 today as well. Oh my god. That's all I can really say. I have no idea how to take the ending. And there's been talk of a third season, though if that happens it will have nothing to do with Lelouch apparently. The more I watched of Code Geass the more and more bad ass Lelouch seemed to get. It was intense. I'm happy with the ending of the second season, I know most people weren't but when you look at it Lelouch is a genius.

I plan on writing an in depth review on both seasons of Code Geass for Hinamizawa Sydrome, so I would check there in a few days to see if its up.

There are two important announcements that I should make:
FIRST: The Hinamizawa Syndrome project is indefinitely postponed. I don't have the time or enough active participation to go through with the struggle of running multiple blogs, a website and a forum site.

SECOND: I'm turning the Hinamizawa Syndrome Wordpress page into a suitable homepage. It will soon include complete bios and other such information for the games which I'm playing, the anime that I've watched and so on.

When all of that is done, I think I should be able to manage my time a little better.

Most people who know me in real life, or even on the internet, know that the career which I plan to pursue is that of a history teacher. For that reason I have set up a new blog. It's centered around all kinds of topics related to European History. I haven't posted a link yet for good reason; the blog is bare right now, I wouldn't want you to be disappointed. But if you have any ideas at all about topics that you would like me to cover in that blog, please email me, comment on this entry, or message me somehow.

I've also just recently set up an account on Last.fm. If anyone is interested in seeing what kind of music I listen to, you can find me there, my username is: emonemox7 as always.

MMO Talk

Today I finally booted up Shin Megami Tensei Imagine Online again. I hadn't really given the game much attention at first. After giving it another try I think I've finally come to the conclusion that there are better MMO's out there. It's fun. And it's a lot like Persona, but all in all its pretty boring. The first thing that will discourage a new player is the fact that the "training" takes over an hour if you're still getting used to the controls. That's where simple pay to plays pass it up greatly. There are NO intro or tutorial missions at all in games like World of Warcraft. So, the bottom line is, if you're looking for a good MMO to play; steer clear of Imagine Online. I would personally recommend Dungeons and Dragons Online. It just recently went free to play with optional pay content.

And now, for promotional stuff. Hinamizawa Syndrome on Wordpress will soon be updated with a few new reviews. So check that out, I'll update ALL of the blogs when that happens.

AMVs

After much consideration I have decided, against my better judgement to start trying my hand at making AMVs. That is to say, for those of you that don't know, Anime Music Videos. The concept is quite simple really. All you have to do is use a video editting program such as Windows Movie Maker, which is free. Once you load up all of your clips, you edit them to the time which you want them to fill and when all that's done you add the music. Simple. Though I should mention that you should REALLY consider which song you want to use first. It makes everything ten times easier.

A Fresh Start

So taking into account the fact that my wordpress blog has all of my reviews on it and I don't like the layout of such sites as Xanga and Livejournal; I think I will be using this blog as my main one now.

I will still publish reviews to this blog, but know also that the main site to find the reviews will be Hinimizawa Syndrome on Wordpress. I've provided a link for your ease of access.

Another thing that I've changed is the home page. It has a nice simple layout on it right now, but I'm not so sure I want to keep up with all of the HTML stuff to keep it looking nice. I may actually just turn the Hinimizawa Syndrome Wordpress page into the main page. It would work out nicely I think. The forums however will remain. I should mention that they've also gotten a new layout recently.

And now, onto further more important business. It snowed. It snowed ALOT. I'm not too upset about it I guess, I mean the positive is that Jon, Deena, Mario and I will be sledding on Friday.

Something else, less important, I've figured out, with the help of kevinandamanda.com how to make nice blog backgrounds. So I think I might start posting some of them that I do.
